As I said I really loved the joking about Ollis moves because I always found those weird.. but making fun of those is something completely different than saying that they only have 2 albums.. that to me is kinda sad too because it shows that they're really unhappy with something they released.. Shouldn't be that way.. it's my least favourite Crash record but still it's not that bad..

yeah well they still played songs from it soo... and in interviews it was stated that it feels abit for them like "listening to your ex girlfriend that betrayed you" but also that they have "good songs on it". or something like that. I can understand that they feel a bit distant to it, and I think time will heal wounds with this. Of course that is a harsh statement, and it's sad of course but also this feels natural for me and when you have things like that you maybe say things and even mean things that are extreme for people outside the situation.

I at least think this is alot of less drastic than saying things like "fuckin finnish idiot" on stage. it's one thing to make fun of moves. another thing to insult people...
also I think as a promoter here and think that this might encourage the fans to feel like they have to decide between Crash and RL, which at least for germany is a bad idea. it's like Magdeth and Metallica, most people won't care but the diehards fans do. and unfortunately in this times the diehards are the ones who pay for stuff.
I personally think fans shouldn't mind about fights, it's not their business, but that's not how this works...
Then again... I'd hate to know that they might not be saying stuff they think for appeareance reasons, it's stupid like nothing else to do things just to look better... Dilemma sort of situation.

Sorry, this is a bit long, but I've been around for a while, and I sometimes see history repeating itself. When it does, grab the chanse and learn from the "oldies" and make it better.

Losing a band member is a deep wound. It's not only a colleague, it's a friend, someone to party with and to love. I was there when Hanoi Rocks lost Razzle *) . Some of you weren't even born when it happened, it's over 25 years ago now, but certain people still can't talk abaout it, at least not on a sad day, without breaking down and cry. It crashed illusions, it killed dreams. They were going to be Guns n'Roses, but it was taken from them and given to another band who happened to have that name. Hanoi managed a tribute concert for their lost drummer, but then split up. Chrashdiet had a similar tragedy, but choose not to die, but to fight on. Looking back on history, I think that was a good decision. If they had not gone on with Olli, the band would have gone the same way as Hanoi, falling apart from grief and sorrow and disapeared.

Often a deep sorrow leads into frustration and anger. When going on, one hope things will be the same again, but they are not. They can't be, the magic is broken, the chemistry has shifted and it's hard to accept. That is when things might turns ugly. There is nothing strange about that, but this anger and frustration is for the ones who were there, not for fans or even friends of the band. It's their fight. They must have it, it's a way of dealing with things, and maybe also to bond the present band tighter to each other.

Read Slash's book. He writes some wise words in it about anger. He sure has a lot of things to say about his former singer. Some good, but most not so. But he also points out that it's his fight, because he was there, and just because he has the right to say bad things doesn't mean his readers or present fans has. Only the ones who actually were there when it happened will ever know exactly what happened. We have the same kind of story here. We can't know, and thus, we have no right to say anything about it.

So, instead of letting things get nasty, lets be happy. The band survived, and not only so, but could rise again, maybe even to greater heights because they're getting stronger from all they've been through. No matter what they say in angry affection, the fact is there is a second album, music was obviously made during that period too. In time I think they will realize that, but maybe it's too early right now. But no matter what, nobody but the band can say such things about that album. Instead, look at "Generation Wild". It was made in a formation that probably has bonded deep both from frustration and anger, but hopefully more from respect and love. Let us therefor cheer them on to encourage them, even when they're angry - as long as we don't feed the anger. Instead, help them to move on and be great by looking at all the good things.

And with this I hope I don't sound like some fucking teacher :P

Respect and Rock
/Anna

*) Razzle was the drummer of Hanoi Rocks. At a party, he went with Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe to buy more booze. Vince was drunk, but nobody forced Razzle to go, it was his choise. It was not far, they could even have walked, but choose to drive. On the way back they went too fast, Vince lost control of the car and they crashed with a car going in the other direction. Vince got some bruices, but the sirens could be heard to where the party was. People started to run there, but nothing could be done. Razzle died on the way to the hospital. Hanoi had a break at their tour at the moment, because their singer, Michael Monroe, had injured his ancle really bad (at the tribute concert several moths later, he still jumped on one foot, and he still suffers from it from time to time), but they were really on the brink of "making" it big. The US was served in front of their feet, and then this happened. Razzle was not only a great drummer, but also a great person, always with a smile on his face, making a joke, always friendly and loved by everyone who crossed his way. There are few in this world who don't have a single enemy, but he was such a person. The loss was catastrophic. They had several who wanted the job, it was not like there was no drummer for them, but something else had broken, it just was not possible to go on. Last autumn in Helsinki I saw Michael's new band (again, they're fantastic). It was then only about one months short of 25 years since Razzzle passed. The band performed a Hanoi-song and someone tossed a scarf on stage. Michael held it up. It said "Razle". Everybody cheered. He turned, put the scarves on the drums where it belonged, decided to be a pro and wiped the tears from his eyes. When he turned to the audience the energetic frontman was back, but for some seconds, his world had stopped. Again. Consider this, and some words of anger might be easier to fathom.

Seems like I'm gonna do a bit of quoting here now oO

I think so too.. to me the move was really funny but I didnt hear anyone say "fuckin' finnish idiot".. I don't think I'd laugh about that because it's just not my cup of tea. Probably Olli insulted them very much with his behaviour back then which is only understandable and that obviously led to the situation we have now
About deciding between RL and Crash: There might be some RL fans who watch a show and think: "That guy up there made fun of Olli, I'm not going to listen to them".. and that's really childish and silly but I know it does happen.. I just think and hope that it doesnt happen too often.
They gotta keep speaking out what they think and what they feel in my opinion.. I don't want a band that only thinks about how they look with what they say..

Everything you said was very true.. but I especially agree with what i quoted.. and i'm absolutely sure that those guys are on their way to become bigger.. I have no doubt about that.. the most important thing is that they're happy now and happy with their new formation
