Hell Yeah! I can't wait to hear Reborn in Sleaze: A Tribute to Dave Lepard too.
Especially the Cyanide 4, Street Symphonies, and Peep Show. Really HUGE fan. :P
I bought Rest in Sleaze a couple months ago, so I can compare the two.
All I'm wondering now is where can I get in the USA. Hmmmmm...
Any suggestions?

I'm not sure but I think you'll be able to get it online 'cause I don't think it will be available in American music stores.

Here you can listen to a longer version (not the full song though) of BlackRain - Lost horizons
Listen from 2:00

I think its still the most disrespectful things ever done in Music I know of. I feel so sorry for Kattah, the guys of Blackrain showed not a sense of respect imo. I dont know what the circumstances were, but I think it can be very true that Dave wrote this song for Kattah, for the person he probably loved the most at the time, and not for the whole world. And I think that is the very reason, that this song wasnt released on RIS. To take something that personal from somebody for gettin attention is really poor behaviour in my opinion. And when Lisbeth gave her approval for them, that its even more sad.

"So you ask me how it feels to be a stick in the wheel
I tell you honey it feels alright
to be another clog in the wrecking machine
wouldn't even cross my mind"

I can see where you're coming from, and my opinion on this whole thing really does depend on honestly what the intentions are of those people behind it. I mean, obviously doing anything like this for attention is outright disgraceful, but these people may genuinely feel like they owe something to Dave & want to do something (or anyrthing) to try and honour his memory, and if that's the case, well I wouldn't feel right bashing on someone whose intentions were in the right place.

When it comes to this song though, I don't know. I didn't listen to it because I honestly didn't want to.

Well you know how the story goes, if it's too loud then you're too old.

yeah the whole thing with the CD isnt that bad, I mean if the money goes directly to the fundation to help smaller bands (and not in the pocket of Lisbeth, which I think it does) than its a great idea.

But especially this song, which is probably the most personal Dave ever wrote, out of a situtation where he was bound in despair which only he and Kattah where part of, is a no go to cover. And the fact that it wasnt even officially recorded makes it more untouchable.

She doesn't seem too upset that the original version is up at youtube... But of course there's another thing when it has been covered and I don't know her look at things... I don't know what to think really. Though she says that it was written in -98 or -99, before crash were even founded, so maybe it isn't the right choise for this record anyway. Well I don't know.

Edit: and a part of it is played by Dave at the RIS dvd, so it isn't THAT private? Or? :p

But then it wasn't released by Dave. It was released by his Bandmates.

Yes but he played it live ...

let these words proclaim the blessing.

and yeah how often? once? on what occasion? an acoustic gig for friends?

And it seems you dont get my point. It was his song he could decide what to do with it. Therefore he did 2 recordings (maybe even more). But obviously he isnt with us anymore and everything I pointed out has to do that others did something with it.

All I've read about it is this:

Journalist: You have recorded “Lost Horizons” as a bonus track for the “Reborn In Sleaze – A Tribute To Dave Lepard” CD that are being released by Street Symphonies Records. Did you choose the song yourself?
Swan: Yeah, I love that song, I always thought that was a waste to keep that song unreleased, so we recorded two versions of that track, it wasn’t especially for that tribute record in the beginning. It’s good to know we can find a version of that ballad on a CD.
