“Well," said Pooh, "what I like best," and then he had to stop and think.
Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there
was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than
when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.”
― A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh...
This is the album that they should have started their career with. Then all the pieces would have fallen into place and they would have gotten me on the hook immediately. Instead I ignored their debute album when it came out, as if it was nothing.
But most of what's on The savage Playground is better then the stuff that I've heard from them before. They may be a great liveband from what I've heard, I haven't seen them, but on an album they have never before sounded as important as they do on this one. O though the difference isn't dramatic. It's still effective sleaze with one or maybe two refrains too much but they are songs that are more developed, solid and varying. A small but big step in the right direction.
Best track: Circus
Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else.

True, but with interesing I meant that some say that TSP is not that good and others say it's like the best thing ever
We will have to make our very own opinion without the influence of reviews or what others say...

first, he didn't say it was bad, he said it didn't catch on him.
second, the length of a review is often down to much space they get in the magazine/online mag, and has nothing to do with anything. Some reviews in The Rolling Stone or Classic Rock mag or stuff like that are shorter.
I think it's a great review, because he didn't act like he knows everything but told his point of view instead of coming up with pseudo reasons for why he has the opinion he has.
Taste and the experience of music is subjective, and thats how reviews should treat it aswell.
Most zines won't even puplish reviews like that. (The one I wrote for for exemple) and it sucks.
