For all you fans of Sister and/or Lizzy Pistol, this is the first interview about Lestat Winters (formerly known as Lizzy Pistol 2008/2009) departure from Sister. It's an odd and warming story about a man who went from playing kick ass metal, touring all over europe to quitting the band, studying folk music at a university and playing violin! For you people who are only interested in the classic "Sex, Drugs and Rock n' Roll" you may find it there as well even though it's not the main theme. Enjoy!

Reading it now!

And all that is holy, holy shall be...
Let the light bless and
let these words proclaim the blessing.
Let the seal be broken and let the light prevail

Feels like he never actually embreced the hardcore part of Sister.
How he didnt like to dress anyway near that off-stage etc.

But on the other hand, its nice to hear that he found something he really likes.
So i guess some folk-music fans is happy :)

The Devana version of "Would you love a creature like me" is pretty good actually.

I never knew Lestat was that young!

You make it sound like it's impossible/unbelievable to love both things equally.. why would it be?
I love Sister, and I'm the biggest folk fan I know.

and stage persona is very different to who you are in private to most people, no?

Yes, I agree! Not everyone is so one dimensional to the point that they can only like/care about one particular thing. Especially in music. Music is so deep and has many different meanings for a lot of people. I'm admittedly very closed minded when it comes to music, but I can still appreciate a well written song or appreciate a certain genre of music for what it is.

As far as the interview goes it was a very interesting read. I was shocked when I heard that he suddenly quit Sister, but he seems like a great guy and I hope he has fun and success with his new project. Also can't wait for what Sister comes up with next.

Interesting stuff indeed. When you're speaking about folk, the differences in style, I immediately thought of Cliff Burton. The music he's listened too, the way he dressed - if you didn't know who he was, you wouldn't have thought it's the bass player of the most influential thrash metal band! ;) He loved Misfits, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd but also stuff like R.E.M. and Peter Gabriel :). So it's nice Lestat is not stuck with metal but just following his artistic heart :).

which doesn't surprise anyone I think, haha, I love it how you refer everything to Metallica, it's so awesome!

Lestat is a great dude I've known him for years and I even played in Lizzy Pistol for a short while. Wishing him all the best :P

Haha, thank you so much Peter! :) Sometimes I bite my tongue before hitting "Submit" because someone can say "not again!" ;). But then it's just how my mind works, it's my passion and biggest interest, so sometimes even subliminally I relate things to Metallica. In this case it was just natural to link the story with Mr. Cliff Burton. The person you are on stage/in public life doesn't have to be the same person when you're at home - that's the conclusion after all :).
